With an arsenal of Dior gowns ready and waiting, there were few
doubts that Marion Cotillard wouldn't dazzle on the Croisette at Cannes.IN PICTURES: Marion Cotillard's stylish May
But rather than fight fellow Dior ambassador Jennifer Lawrence, Cannes' 'Gatsby princess' Carey Mulligan and jury member Nicole Kidman for the prize gowns, Cotillard made the red carpet her own versatile fashion show.
Where Lawrence and Mulligan wore Dior with centre-parted, low maintenance hair, Cotillard wore a statement beehive and plenty of bling to boot.

And to prove that Dior isn't the only label vying to dress the French actress, Marion threw Antonio Berardi and Alexander McQueen into the mix.
The glamorous film festival saw the 37-year-old actress flirt with Berardi minidresses for daytime photo calls before vamping up the glamour in fairytale, floor-length Dior gowns at her film's premieres. NB: If there's one woman who knows how to work an appropriate Cannes dress schedule, Cotillard does.

Lest we forget the curly quiff the fashion plate pulled out at the Met Ball at the start of May. Yes, it may have been a Dior dress again, but who wouldn't want to wear that pale pink number with graduated hemline and cheeky yellow underlay?

Cindy Crawford’s kidnap near miss
Iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford has revealed she narrowly avoided being kidnapped as a young model in Paris.
Supermodel Cindy Crawford was a 21-year-old model when the encounter took place.
Having disembarked a flight at Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport en route to fulfil a work commitment, she unwittingly got into a car with a driver she thought had been sent by her model agency.

Without a scarf, Jessica Alba would be wearing a black vest and dark denim jeans. But, with the help of a zany yellow, patterned scarf, her outfit comes to life. Make sure you have a killer accessory to jolt your dull day outfits out of dull territory
Make the tuxedo jacket your own
Tuxedos don't have to make you look like you're an outcast from a Nineties American prom. Take a leaf out of Brit Marling's Balenciaga book and lengthen the hemline of your jacket to curve neatly round your frame. A plunging neckline helps, too
